Il 10 dicembre scorso, presso la casa delle Associazioni, si è tenuta un’assemblea pubblica, atto “finale” di un percorso di progettazione partecipata. L’incontro ruotava attorno un argomento caldissimo a Brescia: il futuro Parco delle Cave. Dico futuro perché non è ancora una realtà, nonostante sia più di un decennio che se ne richieda il riconoscimento. Questa parte di città, a soli 3 km dal centro storico, negli ultimi 40 anni è stata segnata da diverse cave, sia per l’estrazione della ghiaia sia per essere utilizzate come discarica; tutto questo col beneficio per i proprietari terrieri e dei cavatori, che negli anni hanno accumulato grosse fortune a discapito del territorio. A distanza di anni, le attuali cave si presentano come specchi d’acqua ricchi di vegetazione, popolati da una rigogliosa ittiofauna e dove si svolgono attività all’aperto. Quest’ area infatti è divenuta anche un “piezz'e core” per i migliaia di abitanti della zona, i quali chiedono a gran voce che finalmente si interrompa l’attività di escavazione per lasciare spazio alla ricucitura tra territorio e popolazione. Le associazioni che combattono per questo obiettivo sono molteplici e grazie alla Consulta per l’Ambiente del Comune di Brescia e alla determinazione di funzionari pubblici lungimiranti, negli ultimi anni il tema è tornato molto attuale. Nell’incontro pubblico,Greenvolts, Professione Ambiente e studio Artemis sono stati coinvolti per sottolineare l’importanza di una strategia ambientale territoriale e per raccontare il diario della nostra esperienza riguardo il possibile corridoio ecologico dal Mella all’Oglio, un progetto ambizioso di connessione ecologica ed istituzionale, reso possibile in parte anche grazie all’assessore Ogna del comune di Rezzato. Gli amministratori del comune di Brescia, presenti numerosi all’assemblea, hanno ribadito che metteranno impegno nel perpetrare la causa, auspicando che questa crisi economica, soprattutto nel settore edilizio, aiuti a porre un freno agli appetiti speculativi così da far prevalere le esigenze della cittadinanza e del territorio, finalmente.
